Island of Elba: how getting here

During summer season car ferries leave from Piombino to Portoferraio almost hourly. There are also a couple of daily ferries for Rio Marina. The shipping companies are Toremar, Blu Navy, Corsica Sardinia Ferries and Moby. The crossing Piombino-Portoferraio takes one hour.

Recently a new "fast" boat carrying a limited number of cars is in service.

A hydrofoil service (no cars), which arrives only in Portoferraio, takes 35 minutes.
